Where we refer to 'best selling' products on boots.com, it is based on the number of products sold online during the last 7 days. Where a product is labled 'best selling', it means its sales have exceeded all others in the particular product list or search field it features in. A 'top rated product' is a product with the highest star rating based on ratings and reviews made by our customers. Our 'new products' highlight the most recently launched products on boots.com. Our 'featured products' are those we have chosen to highlight and 'our favourite' products are our favourites out of those sold on boots.com.
We have taken every care in the preparation of the content of this Web site, however we cannot guarantee uninterrupted and totally reliable access to this Web site, and so therefore can not guarantee that the information will always be completely up to date and free of mistakes. Acceptance of orders
Working with industry-leading secure payment processors, we validate your order and credit or debit card details you submit to us before your order can be accepted. Once that has been done, we will acknowledge that your order has been received by sending an e-mail to the e-mail address you provide in your registration form.
Your order is then subject to further validation checks we may choose to make. If your order passes our validation checks we will send you an order confirmation email, this is our acceptance of your order and it brings into existence a legally binding agreement between us.
When your order contains a pharmacy medicine (identified on this site by a [P] symbol) your order will be subject to review by a Boots pharmacist. Subject to this pharmacist's approval, sale of these medicines will then be made by Boots UK Limited.
Boots reserves the right to restrict the number of items available for sale to any individual customer. All orders are subject to availability. If your order cannot be fulfilled you will be offered an alternative or given a full refund.
We accept payment by most major credit or debit cards. Payment will be debited from your account before the dispatch of your purchase.
All credit and charge card holders are subject to validation checks and authorisation by the card issuer. We may submit your orders to DataCash Fraud Services who securely review orders on behalf of Boots.com to eliminate fraud and safeguard our customers transactions. We may also submit your address, date of birth and the value of your order to Experian Ltd. We will not be liable for any delays to your order this may cause. This information may be retained by Experian Ltd for future validation enquiries by other companies. For more details of the information Experian Ltd hold about you, visit http://www.experian.co.uk/. If the issuer of your payment card refuses to authorise payment to us, we will not be liable for any delay or non-delivery. Orders can only be delivered to UK addresses.
Colour reproduction
Boots.com has made every effort to reproduce colours on the site as accurately as possible. However, different computers and mobile devices reproduce colours in slightly different ways, and so exact colour matches are not yet possible over the Internet.
This means that when you order products from the Shop, colours may differ from what you see on the screen.
If you are not satisfied with the colour of the item you have ordered, we operate a returns policy (see Returns for more information).
Price information
Boots.com has taken great care to ensure prices are accurate. Prices may change over time, so if you use your shopping list within 'My account' as a way of re-ordering items, prices on your previous order may no longer be valid. (If you are using a mobile device, unfortunately you will not be able to use this feature. Instead you will need to switch to our full website by clicking on the 'Visit full site' link at the bottom of the page). However, the correct prices will be applied when you select an item from the shopping list and add to your current basket. All prices include VAT where appropriate. Promotions and prices you see in Boots high street stores do not apply to Boots.com, and vice versa.
Prescription medicines
The Online Prescription Delivery Service is provided by Boots UK Limited. For the terms of this service please click here.
If you are using a mobile device, unfortunately you will not be able to use this feature. Instead you will need to switch to our full website by clicking on the 'Visit full site' link at the bottom of the page.

Disposal of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment and Batteries
In the past, most waste electrical and electronic equipment and batteries have ended up in landfill sites, where the toxic materials some of them contain can put communities at risk.
However, facilities now exist for these products to be collected separately from normal household waste and sent for recycling. This enables the hazardous materials to be disposed of safely and other materials to be used to make new products.
So that you can get your waste electrical goods recycled, we have contributed towards a national fund to assist local councils to further develop their existing household recycling centres to deal with this additional waste. To find out more about where you can recycle electrical waste, please visit www.recycle-more.co.uk or contact our free helpline 0800 915 9023.
Waste household batteries can also be disposed of at local council sites or at the special collection points that will be in Boots shops and other locations from February 2010.
All new electrical and electronic products and batteries are now marked with the crossed out wheeled bin symbol to remind consumers to recycle. In the case of batteries this is sometimes accompanied by the letters "Pb", "Cd" or "Hg" to indicate that lead, cadmium or mercury may be present.

The information is not a substitute for professional care by a qualified practitioner. If you are concerned about your symptoms or have any other concerns or questions about your health or medicines, you should always consult an appropriate healthcare professional. Be cautious about embarking on vigorous exercise if you have any serious medical condition, such as back pain, high blood pressure or heart disease, or if you are pregnant.
Medical information is constantly changing and the way the internet and your computer works, may mean you do not always receive the latest version, or a complete version, of our Web site. Whilst we do everything we can to bring you the trustworthy and reliable information that you expect from a company founded by Boots, we cannot give an absolute guarantee that every piece of information on our Web site is true, accurate or up to date at all times.

The omission of any such names does not necessarily indicate a lack of endorsement by Boots UK Limited.
Complementary treatments and therapies
We strongly recommend that you consult your doctor before following any complementary therapies if you are receiving conventional medication or treatment for any condition.
Do not cease conventional treatment or medication for any reason without consulting a doctor.

Cookies
A 'cookie' is a file in your web browser that enables us to recognise your computer when you visit the site.
The tool is used by many Web sites to help collect information, such as how many people visit and return to the site, what products are being bought, and to make certain parts of the site function properly.
Like other retailers we use 'cookies' to allow us to fill in our login fields with your email address, once you have registered. This is to enable customers to login to our site more quickly and easily when you make future visits to Boots.com.
If you are using another person's computer to login to our site (eg in an internet cafe or a colleagues computer at work) then it's possible your e mail address will display in the login field to a subsequent user of our site. We therefore advise customers to clear 'cookies' stored by the web browser when using another person's machine in order to prevent this from happening. The option to do this is normally found within the Tools dropdown menu at the top of the browser window.
If you have "disabled" the cookies file in your browser, you may experience technical problems with some parts of the site (for example products you have placed in your basket may be lost.)
In the future, we may use cookies to personalise our web site, but we will let you know when that happens.
Changes to the law regarding use of cookies
From 26 May 2011, websites will need user consent to store a cookie on the user's computer or device, unless the cookie is deemed 'strictly necessary' for a service requested by the user.
We are currently reviewing how this change to the law affects Boots.com, the cookies we use and what changes we will need to implement to ensure we're compliant with the law and maintain a great experience for all our users.

These files enable DoubleClick to recognise a unique cookie on your Web browser, which in turn enables us to learn which advertisements bring users to our website. The cookie was placed by us, or by another advertiser who works with DoubleClick. We would like to assure you that with both cookies and Spotlight technology, the information that we collect and share is anonymous and not personally identifiable.
